Adopt an Element -
Art & Science Collaborative Project
Overall Project Objective: Students will create a collaborative displayed project combining Art and Science posters, after they "Adopt an Element" from the Periodic Table.
Students will create a magnified view, pastel drawing, that symbolically represents their Element in an abstract composition.
Without the ability to use recognizable images or symbols, the students are challenged to use the Elements of Art to convey 5 or more "elements" (Chemical and/or Physical Properties or Characteristics) of their Adopted Element in a completed pastel drawing.
